Best day tours in Cape Town

4 guided trips you absolutely HAVE to do

Cape Point day tour (full day)

A tour winding through the Cape Peninsula and down to Cape Point,
the south-west tip of the African continent. We depart from Camps Bay and visit either Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Table Mountain or Groot Constantia for wine tasting. From there we go down to the False Bay coast and visit Kalk Bay and Simons Town (including the penguins at Boulders beach) before heading for Cape Point nature reserve. Lunch is at the Two Oceans restaurant at Cape Point or at another top restaurant along the way. On the way back we take in the spectacular Chapman’s Peak drive.

Cape Malay cooking tour (half day)

Our Bokaap cooking experience is a must for anyone who loves local cuisine and cooking. The Cape Malay cooking tour begins with a short cultural tour of the city to get a feel for the Cape Malay heritage, and then we head for the Bokaap home of Faldela Tolker where we prepare a typical Cape Malay dish. We’re going to chop the vegetables and add the spices and learn how to fold samoosas, and then we’ll sit down to the delicious meal we’ve just cooked. Before we leave, Faldela will give us her special recipes so we can surprise our friends back home with these simple but exotic dishes.

Cape Winelands day tour (full day)

The Cape is known around the world for its excellent wines, and our Cape Winelands day tour takes us out into the surrounding countryside to visit some of the country’s top estates. We focus on Stellenbosch and Franschhoek where we visit some of the smaller boutique vineyards and taste their award-winning wines. Possible stops include Hartenberg Estate with its world-renowned Shiraz and Kanonkop with its famous Pinotage. You’ll be able to buy wine at the estates and have it shipped home. Lunch is usually in Franschhoek, a charming village known as the culinary capital of South Africa.

Cape Town city and Table Mountain tour (half day)

If you’re looking for an orientation to the city with its historical and cultural highlights, then this is the tour for you. We visit the Bokaap, home of Cape Malay culture, see the Castle, Greenmarket Square, the flower sellers of Adderley Street and other cultural attractions.
Then we head for Table Mountain and take a spectacular ride to the top in the revolving cable car. The Cape Town city and Table Mountain tour will give you the real essence of Cape Town with its iconic sights and experiences.

Want something more than the usual package tour? If you’ve got a family or small group we can help you plan a private tour with all the sights, history and local flavour that will add up to a truly memorable trip. How about a visit to Cape Agulhas to see the whales, or a trip up the west coast to see the spring flowers in bloom?
