A Cape Town trip is not complete without a visit to see the magnificent artwork housed at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa

If you’re looking to get an artistic feel for the colourful cultural heritage of South Africa and specifically Cape Town, you won’t be disappointed at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) – the largest museum of contemporary African art in the world.  It is a non-profit organisation housing the largest collection of modern art from South Africa, and numerous parts of the African continent.

The Zeitz Museum, quite the architectural work of art itself as a redesigned and remodelled structure – collects, preserves, researches and exhibits twenty-first century art from Africa and its Diaspora. Officially opened in September 2017, it houses over one hundred galleries over nine floors and accommodates a permanent collection of cutting edge African art; with international as well as temporary exhibitions, Centres for Art Education, Curatorial Excellence, Performative Practice, Photography, the Moving Image and the Costume Institute, it is a must see.
