Pop-up vendors, entertainers and holidaymakers bring our picturesque corner of Cape Town to life on a grand scale that is filled with all you could want for those end-of-year endorphins.

If you’d like to travel a little wider, the entertainment being offered at the Kistenbosch Botanical Gardens this December and January is back to the pre-Covid excellence that locals and tourists alike have come to expect! From live music at their Summer Concerts to open-air movies with The Galileo Open Air Cinema, there are options for family, friends and romantic rendezvous.

You could also head out to any of the nearby wine routes, Constantia, Franschhoek and Stellenbosh being among the favourites of our regular guests. Babylonstoren always deserves special mention, with their farm-to-fork philosophy ensuring that their food is seasonal and reflects their “pick, clean and serve” approach. It’s authentic and organic, and they host several workshops throughout the season to get you grounded and closer to the natural environment.

As always – if you’d prefer to stay in and simply enjoy the breathtaking Bakoven views from our terraces, you don’t have to face the foray of festivities.
